Some macOS 15 Sequoia users report trouble with USB functionality

A number of users have reported experiencing issues with USB connectivity on their Macs following the installation of macOS 15 Sequoia.

Per reports on Reddit and Apple’s support forum, drives and chargers plugged into the USB-C ports of a MacBook aren’t being detected, or take a long time to become usable, one Reddit post claims.

Others in the Apple support community have noted that their USB flash drives aren’t being recognized, and don’t appear in the Disk Utility app, meaning the drives haven’t been mounted.

The issue doesn’t seem limited to a specific model or hardware profile and has been noted as affecting a wide variety of Macs.

It’s currently unknown if Apple is aware of the issue, and the company has yet to comment on it or offer a timeline for a possible software update or fix.
