If you’re looking to migrate your albums from Google Photos to iCloud Photos, Google just made the process easier.
Google on Tuesday released a tool that allows for the easy transfer from Google Photos to iCloud Photos, complete with albums and descriptions.
The move, which is actually reciprocal in nature, follows Apple’s release of a similar tool that allowed for the easy move from iCloud Photos to Google Photos three years ago. The companies released the tools as part of the Data Transfer Initiative, which is focused on ensuring that customers can download their data from one online service and upload it to another.
Google’s app creates a copy of your photos and videos and pushes them to another service. The original photos and data remain in your Google Photos account and will need to be manually deleted following the transfer.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
