Current iPad Air inventory begins to run low ahead of anticipated next-gen iPad Air introduction

As expected (and as Apple and any company tries to accomplish prior to releasing a new or updated product), Apple’s retail stock of the current iPad Air model has begun to dwindle ahead of the anticipated arrival of the next-gen iPad Air in May.

Per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who cited sources at Citing sources at multiple retail stores in the latest “Power On” newsletter, Gurman said that inventory levels of the ‌iPad Air‌ are diminishing in Apple stores, a typical indicator that new versions are soon to be released. The iPad Pro, in turn, remains abundantly available, which could indicate that Apple might be planning to sell through its current stock even after introducing an upgraded model. Apple has historically done an admirable job of aligning its inventory with the release cycles for its products.

The next-gen iPad Air is expected to include an M2 chip as well as a 12.9-inch display size option. The forthcoming iPad Pro is expected to feature an OLED display, M3 chip, and new accessories. The refreshed ‌iPad Air‌ and ‌iPad Pro‌ models are now expected to be announced during the second week of May.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
