Apple releases macOS Ventura 13.5.2, iOS 16.6.1, and iPadOS 16.6.1 updates, addressing bug fixes and potential security concerns

Apple on Thursday released updates to its macOS Ventura, iOS, and iPad OS operating systems, the changes focusing on privacy and security as well as addressing security vulnerabilities that Apple says may have been actively exploited in the wild.

The macOS Ventura update brings the operating system to 13.5.2 and arrives almost a month after its macOS Ventura 13.5.1 update.

The update can be located, downloaded, and installed by using the Software Update section of System Settings.

On the mobile side of things, the company also released iOS 16.6.1 and iPadOS 16.6.1, which

Per an Apple security support page, the exploit, which was present in macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, led to conditions wherein processing a maliciously crafted image could lead to arbitrary code execution, allowing a hacker to gain access to the operating system with a simple picture. Apple fixed the ImageIO process by addressing a buffer overflow issue to improve memory handling.

The iOS and iPadOS can be located, downloaded, and installed by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update and proceeding from there.
