Research firm TrendForce predicts “iPhone 13” will launch in September, feature larger batteries, an updated chipset, and expanded 5G support

Per analysts with research firm TrendForce, Apple is likely to release all new models of its “iPhone 13” lineup in September, complete with larger batteries, an updated chipset, and expanded mmWave 5G support.

The company on Thursday outlined its expectations for the device, which it says will return to a typical September release. Driven by the new models, the research firm believes that total iPhone shipments could surge 30 percent year-over-year in the third quarter of of 2021.

The firm also stated that the handsets are expected to sport a new 5 nanometer A15 chipset. It could also expand mmWave 5G support to additional countries in the process.

Other reports state that the units could feature a new 120Hz ProMotion display and additional professional camera features like ProRes video recording. A report from July also indicated that the “iPhone 13 Pro” models would swap Pacific Blue for a bronze-like “Sunset Gold” color.

Apple generally unveils its new iPhone models in September, albeit the iPhone 12 lineup was announced in October 2020 given conditions presented by the pandemic. Most current reports suggest a return to the company’s usual release timeline.
