Comcast to implement 1.2 terabyte data cap for 12 states and the District of Columbia in 2021

1.2 terabytes of data seems like a lot.

Until it isn’t.

Comcast on Wednesday announced that it would implement a 1.2 terabyte data cap to 12 states as well as the District of Columbia in 2021.

The provision would affect nearly 28 million residential Internet customers throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The cap would also affect parts of Virginia and Ohio where it wasn’t already implemented.

The change also comes at a time wherein ISP networks seemed to handle the influx of video conferencing and remote work just fine during this pandemic, with no complaints from these companies.
