On Wednesday, Intel announced its new “Santa Rosa” Centrino chipset for laptop computers. The chips serve as the next generation beyond the current Core 2 Duo processors found in the current MacBook and MacBook pro laptops with a host of improvements to be seen in improved graphics, better wireless support, extended battery life and a new feature called Turbo Memory, which can boost a standard hard drive with NAND flash memory for faster booting.
Current rumors state that the new technologies won’t be too long in coming to the Macintosh, PowerPage head honch Jason O’Grady covering the details over on his Apple Core blog, complete with a set of specs that seem to be earmarked for a third generation MacBook Pro.
Take a look and see what you think.
