Apple may be considering previewing a revamped Mac Pro at the Worldwide Developers Conference this June.
The company is said to be working on a high-end, high-throughput modular Mac Pro for its pro user market. The unit is thought to be easily upgradable and could feature components for intensive system tasks.
Per the mighty Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple has “internally weighed previewing a new version of the high-end Mac Pro” at this year’s WWDC, although no public decision has been announced.
In the past, executives Craig Federighi and Phil Schiller has stated that Apple is committed to making the Mac Pro the highest-end desktop system able to accommodate VR and high-end cinema production. Apple has also put together a “Pro Workflow Team” to tailor the Mac Pro and other Apple products to its professional users.
The revamped modular Mac Pro is rumored to ship alongside a speculated Apple-branded pro display, which could offer a 31.6″ work space and 6K resolution thanks to Mini LED-like backlighting design.
It’s unknown as to when the next-gen Mac Pro is slated to be released, although Apple did promise a 2019 launch date as of early 2019.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
