Luggage Week: Timbuk2 Clear Zip Pouch

It’s luggage week here at the PowerPage and I, for one, couldn’t be happier. It’s a week (that usually translates into a month) where we’re enveloped in the wafting scent of freshly cut Cordura, clear UVX, neoprene and ballistic nylon. I think that the fumes may be getting to me. Read more…

First up is an accessory case that your editor is digging from the uber-bag gurus at Timbuk2 called the Clear Zip Pouch. The Zip Clear Pouch gives a home to the droves of accessories the PowerBookers are forced to tote day in and day out. Accessory bags are great because they keep all your various doodads, adapters and cables from swimming around in the bottom of your bag. Don’t get me started on bags with black interiors, either.
The Zip Clear Pouch comes in four sizes ranging from small (3.5 in W x 7 in H x 2 in D, US$10) to extra large (5 in W x 12 in H x 2.5 in D, US$16) and is cool because you can actually see what’s inside without digging. The clear window also makes it easier for airport security to see what’s inside without having to rifle through your personal belongings. The window is made from the same clear UVX material used in high-altitude expedition tents (not cheap clear vinyl) and Timbuk2 claims it won’t tear, crack or yellow. The rugged ballistic nylon is the same fabric used in the company’s popular messenger bags.
This one’s a keeper folks.
