This USB mouse is perfect for a Pismo or Lombard PowerBook. It’s small, light weight, and dark gray in color. It has two buttons, a scroll wheel and optical tracking. The price is just US$34.95.
This product is based on Secret Seven’s Tiny Mouse for kids. The small size is the reason to either buy this mouse or pass it up. It fits nicely in a PowerBook bag and is more likely to get taken along than a full-size mouse. Unfortunately, I found the small size to be somewhat awkward to use. It was originally designed for the hands of a small child after all, but I still prefer it to Apple’s “hockey puck” mouse or working with the trackpad for extended periods. If you want the scroll wheel and two buttons, Apple’s Pro Mouse won’t do it for you and Microsoft’s offerings are just huge.
Currently there is no Mac driver, but the mouse does work with the standout shareware program USB Overdrive. A Mac Driver is planned for introduction in the first quarter of the new year.
