A friend of Go2Mac sends us his thoughts:
MacCentral and MacWeek recently ran news stories about how Apple’s sales figures are down considerably.
It should be noted that last years’ December quarter was stellar – really great compared to other quarters. So to compare figures against the December quarter from last year would be a hard nut to crack, not to mention PC sales are down across the board because of the economy.
You need to compare unit sales for several years back, not just compare this quarter to last year’s quarter. You get the idea.
With the exception of Apple’s recent 10-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), sales numbers are kept relatively secret. Maybe one of your readers could shed some light on this?
