It’s neat stuff in a road warrior kind of way.
On Tuesday, Contrast, makers of Launch Center Pro, launched a pair of shortcut programs for iOS.
The first app, Group Text+, makes it easy to message the people you care about using iMessage and SMS. Users can mix and match contacts, groups, images, and text snippets to quickly compose messages. The second app, Email+ does the same, but with email. And they both have handy sharing extensions for use in other apps.
The company stated that in lieu of creating a single app for both functions, they quickly realized that doing both messaging and email in a single app added a lot of complexity, both to the UI and to the code. Separating the apps allowed the developer to deliver a focused experience that makes each app better on its own.
Group Text+ is available for US$1.99 in the App Store and requires iOS 8.0 or later to install and run.
Email+ is available for US$2.99 in the App Store and requires iOS 8.0 or later to install and run.
If you’ve tried either of these apps and have any feedback to offer, please tell us what you think in the comments.
