Since everyone is nuts for Quake III Arena benchmarks, we’ve got ’em. The following benchmarks are from a PowerBook G4 Titanium 400 MHz with 512 MB RAM and Mac OS 9.1. Thanks to ZoInKs @ bartsource for the juice.

Graphics settings: custom, video mode: 640*480, color depth: 16-bit, lighting: lightmap

To benchmark your Mac follow these steps:
- Launch quake
- Select Resolution in setup
- bring down console (~ tilde key)
- type:
- timedemo 1
- demo demo001
- [demo runs]
- bring down console (~ tilde key) and take a screen shot
- type: screenshot
- the screenshot will tell all (fps, time, resolution.. etc.)
