Apple Releases Pro Application Update 2007-001

Late Wednesday, Apple released Pro Application Update 2007-001. The update, which accompanies a series of updates released for Final Cut Studio 2, make changes to underlying frameworks and shared components used by the suite’s applications.
The upgrade features the following fixes and improvements:
-Apple ProRes 422: Delivers improved encoding performance for Power Mac G5 computers.
-ProAppsEffects: Delivers filter improvements for Motion 3.0 and Final Cut Pro 6.0 customers.
-PluginManager, FxPlug, ProFX, and FxPlugWrapper: These shared components deliver updates to Effects Support, 3D Support, and Versioning Support.
-Helium.framework: Delivers improvements for SmoothCam. This update is required for customers using Motion 3.0 and Final Cut Pro 6.0.
The Pro Application Update is available here through a simple web form and can also be found via Mac OS X’s Software Update feature provided Final Cut Studio 2 has been installed on your Mac.
Final Cut Studio 2 requires Mac OS X 10.4.9 and retails between US$499 and US$1,299 depending on upgrade pricing.
