Several readers have notified us of an “extreme iBook sighting” on the ER episode that aired on February 3, 2000. The blueberry iBook was given to a little boy with muscular dystrophy to encourage him to use his hands. Dr. Carter was starting up the computer, and the camera caught the MacOS logo.
Reader Jason Froikin sees the “extreme” in the scene:
That’s when a funny thing happened: As the scene was written, the kid was supposed to knock the iBook on the floor and smash it – only it didn’t smash! Dr. Carter picked it up, and it was in perfect condition, still booting the MacOS!
The reason why I figured out it was supposed to be smashed was because as Dr. Carter picked up the iBook, he said “Anything else you care to smash while you’re at it?”
